The Wanderer

Since I have no place to go

No purpose

No intent

Since all I have are ideals

Great ideas

With modest executions

Since I am but a sinner

With no strength to repent

Since I just want to help

Spread a message

A message for all to hear

Then I’ll Wander

Far and wide

Spread my message to all those who will listen

I’ll walk along the highways

Through the alleys

Into the ghettoes

Past the suburbs

Through the cities

Into the night

Through the day

To spread my message

Which appears so clear:

All we can ask for is tolerance

Not full peace, not full war

All we can ask for is tolerance

For all those who are different

But

Since that should already be

In this land of the free

Then

There is no true message

Which is why I’m wandering here

But while I’m here

Might I ask

Why are we here?
