Into the Water

Crashing and splashing

Diving and flipping

Pulling and kicking

My favorite thing to do

An endless black line

Never seemed so divine

As I push through the water

Focused and hurting

The painful lane lines

Stroked red and white

Guide me on my path

My path to success.

That moment

When you hit the water

Adrenaline rushing

Ice pouring through your veins

25 yards

Never seemed so long

As I raced through the blue

Eager to reach the wall.

Heart pumping

Arms swinging

Legs fluttering

Brain blank.

I am ready.
