Weight

It wears the heaviest chain

Something that most feel

It’s hard to unlock with all the pain

Making an unseen deal

The beat it makes seems very faint

But full of colors as if paint

The tears it will shed

Add to the chain of lead

Weighing down even more

Until unlocking a complex door

Sometimes others will speak too

But what they say seems all but true

And once heard it must listen

Or a chance was lost to shine and glisten

Using it’s eyes but cannot see

Through blind is not what it seems to be

The things good that occur

Always happen in a blur

No acceptance in any way

Is the way it lives every day

Sometimes it doesn’t go outside

Feeling that it may have lied

It isolates itself in the dark

Afraid the dog might bark

It must climb a mountain

In search of a fountain

Parched, dry

Feeling it may die
