What Would You Change Scholarship Slam

Why do we sit idle day after day?

People are in need,

The world is struggling,

Yet we sit,

We are unwilling to help,

Helping means effort,

It’s a sad truth,

Why is it too much effort to help people?

But not too much to play games,

Not too much to watch TV,

Not too much to hang out with friends,

People are in need,

The world is struggling,

We play on,

A kid just like the rest,

He takes a break,

He looks outside,

Sees a homeless man,

Closes the blinds,

Why?

People are in need,

The world is struggling,

This kid ignores him,

Why?

Too much effort,

Of all things in the world,

Who would have thought that laziness would be our downfall?

Everyday we have a chance to have an affect on someone,

But we don’t always try,

What if we try?

What if that change occurred?

Where would we be?

We would live in a world without hunger,

Without wars,

Without as much death and destruction,

But we need to stop being lazy,

Change starts with you,

It billows out from there,

Spreads to more and more people like a virus,

Until the change is complete,

Then a new change can occur,

People are in need,

The world is struggling,

The change starts with you.
