For Whatever's Right.

If I said
Oh, if I said enough is enough
The world would still keep turning, and people would continue to quit learning
Sure, we all learn everyday
Just so in the future we’ll have a typical job to pay
For a place to sleep, food to eat, and children to play
But what we don’t learn is, why we try to earn this
What we don’t know, is that there’s other ways to go
And if it’s one-way or the highway, I’ll take the lonely road
Because I’ll find my purpose, the meaning of this beautiful life
Because beauty can be damaged without being noticed if you let it
In a place where everyone is under the same genre
Sacrifices taken, moments shaken, loved-ones misunderstood
But you know that they mean good
If they could think for themselves, if we all took three minutes a day
If we used our own minds, washed away the media, we would see in full color
Rather than this sepia
And I know I sound crazy, but just maybe our world’s a little sick
Our economy is awful, and we act like it’s not
Strange things happening, don’t tell me it’s impossible for one thing to be a plot
They say everything’s fine, the right ones will get out alive, but who’s to choose?
Shh, darling whisper, don’t let them hear you
Or we may soon be gone
And watch what you write, for they may visit you in the night
Dark and threatening, fearing for your life
Don’t let go of you, and don’t forget what founded you
Don’t, please please, don’t, let them take you away from today
They’ll promise you a glimpse of tomorrow
But then you’ll only receive a future filled with sorrow
Beautiful angel, wake-up today, so you can sleep safely tonight
Hold onto your grasp of reality tight
And never end a war
Without putting up your best fight
For what’s right.
