The Wilderness

the wilderness,

had much to teach

but we got dirt on our clothes

and we cleaned it with bleach.

made it easy for us,

built our steps in the dirt.

chopping away,

at our home in the earth.

piece by piece we broke off.

time after time.

it needs to be soft.

" in a place that is nice."

show the world who was boss.

how is that a crime.

because nature revolts.

as it's growing old

we we burt nature to death

and we ask why we're cold.

chopped the trees to the ground.

and used them for coals.

now there's nothing left.

well, we had been told.

This poem is about:
My country
Our world

Chopped trees to the ground and used them for coals...reminds me of Haiti.
