A Wish
A wish thought as night falls
My only wish upon a star.
I don’t wish for fancy cars
Or scorching warmth of spotlights.
A high position is not on my list
And vast capital is not my wish.
It is not long days of glamour I thirst for
Nor to sign a handful of autographs.
My only wish is to pass on
As much of the joy that I may;
To burn a torch for what I know
For what humans lack is faith, I know.
I only wish to turn this world around
From a dump into a sanctuary.
In which sorrow slips your mind
And all you think is you can’t stop smiling.
That is my only wish,
To know a world without pain.
What is yours?
