A Year

i was small

insignificant

the world was large

and i was nothing but a speck

my hair a mess

my clothes sloppy

and i blended into the background

then she left

i was bright

something like extraordinary

the world was large

but so was i

my days were vibrant

fiery and new

and i was a sunflower in a field of roses

                        -what a difference a year can make(m.m.)
