You Make it so Difficult

I shouldn't feel sick

Everytime I think about you

I shouldn't vomit

Everytime you text me

I shouldn't have to hide

Who I really am from you

I shouldn't have to sneak around

And worry about what you'd say

I shouldn't have a panic attack

At the idea of seeing you

I shouldn't have to deal with this

You're my mother

Why do you do this?

You say you love me

And I know you think you do

But if you can't accept me

And the decisions I'm making

Do you really love me?

Or the person you want me to be?

This poem is about:
Me
My family
