You're Beautiful

If I told you your flaws were beautiful
You probably wouldn't believe me
But beauty is in the eye of the beholder
And my eyes do not deceive me
As I trace the tears
That trickle down your cheek
I feel a longing for strength
Because your soul is weak
As I listen to the soft weeping
That escapes from deep within
I can hear your last plea
You desire for the pain to end
As I look beyond your words
And into your heart
I can see the deception
That tore your trust apart
To me you are a jewel
Buried in the dirt
Hidden from the world
Aching from the hurt
To me you are a masterpiece
Yet full of mistakes
Someone who has purpose
Someone who has what it takes
To me you are a wonder
A bundle of hope
Though the world may see you as nothing
That's an idea in which I just can't cope
Because when I look at you
I see you striving to be free
And a person with perseverance
Will always be beautiful to me.
