How do I stop the squandered days, days of regret

Could I ever write a poem
That would change the
Minds of men,
Words that would make the
World stop turning
And halt the advance of time...
And today I wonder.
With the faded sunshine
Whisked away on the breeze.
With the soggy sponge of earth
Slurping at my feet.
With the smell...
In the moments between words
I was broken.
In the space between my thoughts
I was a victim.
I was surviving every dagger to my lungs
And...
I looked out, past metal obscuring my vision.
I looked beyond the cold.
I looked past my cage.
I lifted my voice as I lifted my head
