I feel it pressing in from all sides
I feel a weight on my shoulders
I’m trying to stand but I can’t
I’m falling and I’m struggling
I fight...
What shred of dignity do I maintain?
What shred of innocence can I claim?
Pull back the scales of pride from my eyes
Pull back the blinders...
As the sun sets and moonlight shines
I slip into my nightgown soft and made of silk
Walking through the dew-covered grass
The crickets...
Gives me butterflies in my heart
Had me smiling from the start
Helps when help is needed
Doesn't seem one bit conceited
Is a major helping...
In an instant, your heart is broken
A matter of seconds and darkness enfolds you
Someone or something means everything to you
But eludes...
