BEING MYSELF
Be yourself...
That's what everyone says.
But being myself...
gave me this black eye.
But being myself
Gave me this bruised face.
Gave me a childhood i wasn't ready to face.
First of all, I don’t act how I look.
I’m a girl, but I don’t clean or cook.
I don’t like to shop or put on makeup;
How I look for the day is how I wake up.
I’d rather play sports with the guys
All my life I've been chasing after thunder.
Now I sit in my room and I wonder.
What was I looking for?
What was it I saw before?
I don't see it anymore.
