Adult Life

We were young then.

Pushing from where we were, to where we needed to go.

Out all night, didn’t have a care.

Not so much now.

We were young then.

As school progressed, we got older, classes got harder, and life got expensive.

My parents had spare money for little day to day things that I needed.

Not so much now.

We were young then.

As time went on, so did the friends.

“I got work today, sorry” became a common saying among us.

“I’m busy man, maybe next week” week after week.

Not so much now.

We were young then.

Now, we seldom see or hear about each other.

Now, we just work work work.

Now, that life seems like the distant past.

Before, I dreamed of growing up.

Not so much now.
