A Glimmer

I remember a cold, lonely feeling,

One that lingers and laughs at who I be,

One that has followed me, only haunting.

A heart sunken low, farther than you see.

Trying to fit in, only to be mocked,

Surrounded and stabbed by my horrid woes.

I could not help it, like a shell, I locked,

The sadness, more than anyone may know.

Ay, but you came, changed my point of view,

That bright face, with an even brighter smile.

A look from you and those feelings eschewed,

I still shiver, you make my day worthwhile.

You block out those thoughts, you shield me from it

It intrigues me, for the love bug had bit.
