Hurricaine

Tue, 08/28/2018 - 20:28 -- el1027

Good god! What horror and destruction

it must have come from our own corruption

We fight, we’re selfish, and have no remorse

Then a hurricane comes and takes us by force

We fight for our lives and the lives of our family

There’s nothing that could’ve prepared us for this calamity

The winds they speak what we’ve done, but we can’t understand

Is it God's will, or is it Death's hand?

The winds and rain destroy the terrain

The screams of St. Croix are filled with pain

The wind comes to a stop

But the rejoice was swapped

-- with sadness and depression

As we saw our fellow-creatures

Overcome with sickness; fevers

We realize what God had planned

It’s time to help our fellow man
