Kindergarten Kindness

Have you ever had a friend who stuck up for you?

Listen close and I’ll tell of a boy who knew

That bullying is wrong so please follow along

With all the talk of his truth

David was his name and this story is brave

It’s about a girl he stuck up for and it won’t be a bore

So listen just listen and you’ll learn quite a lot

Because what I’m about to tell you is a great plot

Our story begins when a small Asian girl was shy

She started to get picked on and bullied for no reason why

Backed in a corner with nowhere to go

Until a certain fellow stepped in and said “oh no”

He said to this bully “Don’t mess with my cousin”

Which at this time seemed very strange and puzzlin’

Why I had never met this boy in my entire life

And yet so willingly he took my fear and gave me strife

I don’t remember what happened after that

But I know the bully left so he and I started to chat

From that day on we became good friends

But somewhere after elementary the friendship met its end

We didn’t talk much because I felt he became a danger

It was as if were those two awkward strangers

I finally gained a good sense of mind

And wanted to find the kid inside him that was kind

We started to talk again after many years

I hope to be buds and not judge one another but hear

I wish he could know how thankful I was

To have a friend like him because

He had done a great deed when it wasn’t his part

And I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for his heart!
