Letter to Heaven

Fri, 01/13/2017 - 14:58 -- g3

Words cut deep when their spoken at the right time,

I just feel bad for the ones that don't come out in time,

Like, I love you and appreciate all that you do,

But now life goes on and we all really miss you,

I use to think that I could always make that call,

I did not realize that was a fatal stall,

I'm very fortunate you got to meet the love of my life,

From the moment I met her I knew she'd be my wife,

I wish you were there when I gave her your ring,

Her eyes lit up knowing how much you mean,

You might find it funny I told her she reminds me of you,

But on the third date not the right thing to do,

She is honest, fun, loving, caring and much more then I can explain,

She is more refreshing then a bottle of Champaign,

The honeymoon in Jamaica was here just as fast as it was gone,

If you asked me if we liked it I'd have to say Ya MON,

You use to ask me what I wanted to do when I grew up,

But I was more interested in games then being a grown up,

You'd be happy now knowing I finally figured it out,

Having time with family is what I want to be about,

I've quit my long hour job to go back to school,

If I stay where I am I'd be the same ole fool,

You made an impact on my whole life and I miss you so much,

This year has taught me to never lose touch,

Time with family is priceless and now I know,

I will try to spend more time and let my appreciation show,

I love you Grandma from the bottom of my heart,

I know this is not goodbye but just the start.
