The Lonely Pitbull

This lonely Pitbull doesn't have a home,
This lonely Pitbull wanders all alone.

He used to wait for his owner,
To come home from work every day.
Then his owner would always beat him,
Much to the poor Pitbull’s dismay.

He remained faithful although his owner,
Beat him until the poor thing cried.
Remained faithful to the very end,
When his owner left him out to die.

He howls out of loneliness,
In the middle of the night.
He’s afraid to go out in daylight,
People cause him fright.

Nobody reaches out to him,
Not a bowl of water,
Nor scrap of food,
Nor any affection,
Is offered to the Poor Pitbull.

Eventually the dog pound picks him up,
He is not used to being in a cage.
He howls, and howls for who knows why?
Out of loneliness, out of terror,
Out of confusion, out of rage.

Eventually the pound decides,
to put the poor Pitbull to sleep.
If only some kind soul,
Would have picked him up,
And wrapped him in their arms.
