The Simple Things

Location

I live for the simple things;
the sound and smell of rain,
the flash of lightning,
the boom of thunder.

These simple things keep me alive;
the feel of the sun on my skin,
the rush and smell of the ocean,
the kiss of waves on sand.

These simple things mean so much;
the sound and spray of a waterfall,
the clatter of rocks,
the smell of grass.

These simple things keep me going,
when my brain tells me poisonous things;
they cleanse me, they heal me.
they’re all I have some days.
