Snowflakes

Fluttering from the sky,

like crystal clear butterflies.

As precious as diamonds,

as fragile as glass.

Twinkling and sparkling,

like a star on its long journey down.

Whiter than the pearliest white.

Filling the ground with beautiful gems.

Each one is different,

no two are the same.

Colder than the crisp mountain air,

lighter than a feather or dandelion down.

Touching the ground,

its beauty is sadly put to sleep.
