So cute

I try to calm down.

    This is fine.

    I'm fine.

"Don't be sad," she says.

    I'm not sad.

    I'm scared.

    Frustrated.

    Confused.

She doesn't listen.

    She's so sweet.

    So naive.

She tells me to block him,

But I can't.

Can't risk missing a warning sign.

Can't bear the weight of the potential guilt.

She thinks it's cute.

Says we're like the Joker and Harley Quinn.

She thinks it's romantic,

Like I could calm him down.

    I can't.

I just want to have time to stop him,

To be able to let someone else know.

I am powerless,

    But she will never understand.

    No one ever does.

After all, how could anything be wrong,

When we were so cute together?
