You Big Bully

I am me.

Take it for what you will.

Sticks and stones

May break my bones

But words

Will only break my spirit.

What doesn't kill me

Will only make me stronger.

So no longer will you push me down

With your vulgar language

No longer will you hurt me

With your racial slurs and your black jokes

No longer will you take from me

My dignity and my self-confidence

Because God made us all equal

Not one is better than the other

Because I won't let you have power over me any longer

And Because I am me!

Not you nor anyone else

Can take that away from me
