hickey

Fri, 03/20/2015 - 23:48 -- sunbare

your lips touched me and brought what flows through my body up to the surface
and it was a beautiful thing and i finally believed that who i was was beautiful
i was myself and i was no longer ashamed of it but
when you left that pride turned into the shame i felt
when the people around me saw the hickey on my neck
that was born from the same lips, same act that made me be myself

I love the short brashness of this piece. I've definitely been in this area before; not a great zone to be in, definitely illustrates who I've been.
