Saying Goodbye

It wasn’t hard for you to sweep me off of my feet,

I took only one sip of you but already felt weak in the knees,

My thoughts and emotions for “us” could not be tamed,

It’s funny how many times you told me you loved me, but only in vain,

It seems that I fell in love with some fictional character,

You wore a mask and revealed what was hidden underneath to be much scarier,

You’re a snake and every other word you spoke to me was fake,

You lied, I cried, it’s easy to say you were my biggest mistake,

I look back on all those moments I thought to be perfect,

And think to myself, “damn they were right – he never was worth it,”

So congratulations to you for being such a great actor,

I’m moving on now, and leaving you in my last chapter
