It's okay. You're okay.

What poetry has taught me is easy to see.

It's made me actually deal with, well, me.

I have learned that it's okay to have insecurities.

It's alright to acknowledge the anxiety.

I have to embrace the doubts instilled within me.

That is the only way to heal and be happy and free.

I've learned that it's okay not to feel like yourself.

Sometimes, writing is the only thing that helps.

As tears run down my paper,

I discover it's okay not to be just like her.

I've learned I have to confront my depression.

Even heartache has a purpose if it comes with a lesson.

It's acceptable to feel pain and be drowned in sadness.

I am valid even with all my madness.

There's nothing wrong with me because I am different.

Nothing I say is irrelevant.

Sometimes the only way to truly find yourself,

is to write words down like they are for someone else.

Poetry has made me free.

Poetry has made me, me.

Poetry has made me free

Poetry has made me, me.

This poem is about:
Me
Our world
